Queer (LGBTQIA+) Affinity Book Club

Reading Boldly. Belonging Fully.

At John Knox Presbyterian Church, we believe that stories matter. They shape us, challenge us, and help us see both ourselves and our neighbors more clearly. Our Queer (LGBTQIA+) Affinity Book Club is a monthly gathering centered on thoughtful reading, open conversation, and authentic community.

This group creates a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to explore books that highlight queer voices, experiences, theology, history, memoir, and fiction. Some selections invite us into faith-centered conversations. Others expand our understanding of identity, justice, belonging, and resilience. Every book opens the door to deeper empathy and meaningful dialogue.

Our gatherings are relaxed and conversational. You don’t need to have all the answers—or even to love every book. You simply need curiosity and a willingness to listen and share. Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+ or as an ally, you are welcome at the table.

We meet monthly. Join us as we read, reflect, and journey together.

As a congregation committed to Welcome, Embrace Diversity, and Do Christ’s Mission, this book club reflects our desire to cultivate spaces where every story is honored and every person is valued. Through reading and discussion, we grow in understanding, strengthen relationships, and continue building a church where all belong.

Welcome. Embrace Diversity. Do Christ’s Mission.
