Pastor Dan's Bible Study

Beginnings: A Summer Journey Through Genesis

Beginning June 9, Pastor Dan will host a weekly Bible study each Tuesday at noon in the Conference Room. This summer, we will explore the book of Genesis—the biblical book of “beginnings”—through the scripture passages used in worship. Together, we will discover what these stories reveal about God, humanity, and our calling to participate in God’s mission in the world.

Each gathering will include time to reflect on the previous Sunday’s sermon and scripture, sharing insights and discussing how the text speaks to our lives. We will also look ahead to the coming Sunday’s Genesis passage, listening together for God’s voice and considering how the text may shape our faith and discipleship. Participants will have the opportunity to offer perspectives and feedback that help inform future sermons.

Along the way, we will learn about the Revised Common Lectionary, explore the spiritual practice of Lectio Divina, and deepen our relationships with one another as we grow in faith together.

  • When: Tuesdays at Noon. Gather with us each week for approximately one hour of scripture, discussion, and reflection.
  • Where: Conference Room at John Knox Presbyterian Church. The setting is informal and conversational, providing a comfortable space for learning and fellowship.
  • Who: Everyone is welcome. Whether you are opening the Bible for the first time, returning after many years, or have spent a lifetime studying scripture, there is a place for you in the conversation. Questions, insights, and diverse perspectives are encouraged as we learn and grow together in faith.

Come join us as we gather around God’s Word, share in meaningful conversation, and grow together as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Listening for God's Voice

God’s Word has the power to inspire, challenge, comfort, and transform us. Through study, discussion, prayer, and reflection, we grow not only in knowledge but also in our relationship with God and one another. Together, we seek wisdom for daily living, encouragement for the journey, and a deeper understanding of how Christ calls us to serve in the world.
